If it’s green beer you’re looking for, then be sure to purchase a $10 wristband before taking it out in the festival area, also known as a “Control Zone.” To party with a pint in hand all festival-goers must buy a wristband at one of many booth locations downtown. They can be purchased with cash and credit cards by anyone 21 years and older, who shows a valid I.D. There will be different wristbands for each day, so if you’re looking to join the party for more than one day, then you must buy a separate wristband each day. They are only required in the festival area, which stretches from River Street to Broughton Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to East Broad Street.

Don’t forget to make your commute plans before the big day, because parking can be tricky when there’s hundreds of thousands of people in town. Event parking can cost anywhere from $5 to $25 dollars on St. Patrick’s Day, with most of the garages downtown running at a rate of $20 per vehicle.
